In 2001, I was licensed as a Parish Lay Mininster for the North Texas Northern Louisiana Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  While not ordained, my ministry within the church is to serve in a "Pulpit Supply" role.  It's almost like being a substitute teacher.  If a pastor in the Dallas area needs to take a Sunday off, I have the honor of filling in.  It has been a real blessing.  I get to travel to congregations in the area and meet wonderful people while preaching His word.
