Church Life

I am currently serving as the Vicar of Four Mile Lutheran Church in Mabank, Texas.  Founded in 1848, Four Mile is the oldest, continuously operating Lutheran Church in Texas and is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and in the North Texas/North Louisiana Synod.

In 2001, I was commissioned as a Parish Lay Minister for the North Texas Northern Louisiana Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  While not ordained, my ministry within the church has been to serve in a "Pulpit Supply" role.  It's almost like being a substitute teacher.  If a pastor in the Dallas area needed to take a Sunday off, I have the honor of filling in.  It has been a real blessing.  I get to travel to congregations in the area and meet wonderful people while preaching His word.
